The Minerals Research Association of Nova Scotia (MRANS) is a not-for-profit focussed on research activities that help the province’s mining and quarrying industry grow and create jobs for Nova Scotians.
While Minerals Play Fairway was the impetus for establishing MRANS, MRANS also works to foster other minerals-related research in partnership with government, industry and universities.

Nova Scotia’s mining and quarrying industry employs 5500 Nova Scotians, mainly in rural areas, and generates $420 million per year in economic activity.
Fostering mineral research and exploration is essential to ensuring the industry’s ability to keep creating new jobs for Nova Scotians.
